Origins

The Blemmya is one of a race with origins in Greek and Roman mythology, legend and folklore. Specifically, accounts of their existence first arose in Natural History (a work written by Pliny the Elder) and Histories (a work written by Herodotus).

Appearance

Blemmya are taller and more muscular than the average human, but their most distinctive feature is that they have no head. Instead, their face is set into their chest.

Behavior

Despite their appearance, Blemmya behave in mostly the same way that humans do. They are a nomadic people, and migrate all across northern Africa. There have been unsubstantiated reports of Blemmya populations in the Americas and India as well. Despite rumors to the contrary, Blemmya do not eat human flesh.
