Appearance[]
The Peryton is consistently described as a hybrid of a stag and an eagle. However, the description varies on different stories: on some occasions, it is pictured with a bird's body with the head and hindlegs of a stag. Other times, is depicted with the body, head, and hindlegs of a stag, with the enlarged wings and legs of a bird as the for legs.
