The Harpygriff is a creature with origins in the mythology, legend and folklore of Medieval England. In particular, accounts of its existence can first be traced back to its use within Medieval European Heraldry.
Appearance[]
The Harpygriff is not called such without good reason. It has a head like a Gryphon (that is to say, the head of an bird/eagle, with the ears of a mammal/horse), as well as a lion's tail, a midsection like a human woman, and wings like an eagle in place of humanoid arms or animal forelegs. Thus, it appears to be a hybrid of Gryphon and Harpy in one body.
