The Neas is a creature with origins in Greek mythology, legend and folklore. In particular, accounts of them arose from the land of Samos.

As far as researchers can tell, it is the only creature in Greek mythology thought, by ancient worshipers, to have gone extinct; this is because, on Earth, only fossil remains have ever been found of them.

Though, thankfully, that is no indication of the Neades' true status as a species; in supernatural realms, dimensions and worlds, the species still not only survives, but thrives.
