Origins[]
The Strzyga (Pronunciation: St-shyi-gah(?)) is a female demon from Slavic mythology. They are closely similar to Vampires. Male Strzygas do exist but they are quite rare. They are called Strzygoń (St-shyi-gon'(?)).
Their origins are due to believe that if a human is born with two souls,, they are likely to become a Strzyga after death. In some cases, a human could be born with two hearts or two rows of teeth, although the second set is usually invisible to the naked eye. Those who had these were usually banished from human dwelling places. Such Strzygas die young.
Appearance[]
The Strzyga's appearance resembles that of a normal human being, only with grey or blueish skin. The longer they live, the more they will physically change. Other features they will gain are often presented with bird-like features, mainly owl-like features such as claws, eyes, feathers, wings growing out of their backs.
Behavior[]
Strzyga is considered to be one of the most dangerous creatures in Polish mythology and folklore. Targeting humans to feed off from, but they can consume animal blood for a short time. Besides their diet, their attacks is usually directed towards revenge to those who wronged them during their time alive. Sometimes, they just attack out of random.

- Exposure to sunlight can be fatal to the Strzyga.
- Slapping a Strzyga with your left hand will protect you from being fed on.
- Strzygas return to their grave once daylight come. This can leave them exposed to humans hunting for them.
- - They can be staked/nailed in various parts of their body, similar to a Vampire.
- - Burning their body.
- - Decapitation.
- Putting flint or a piece of paper with religious text underneath the Strzyga's tongue can prevent them from rising.
- Strzyga cannot enter houses that are scattered with Poppy seeds.
