Origins
The valravn is a creature with origins in Danish folklore.
Appearance
Behavior
According to legend, valravne are formed when ravens eat the heart of a king slain in battle. As they are created in blood, their actions are the same. To take the form of a knight, a valravn must first devour the heart or drink the blood of a child. Valravne either take the child by force, or are promised it in exchange for help.
Abilities
Valravne are shapeshifters, but only after eating the heart of a child. In raven form, they can fly long distances at night. Ravens are already one of the smartest of all birds, but a valravn is smarter still, and it can use its intelligence to speak with, and even make contracts with humans.
